Thor's Hammer, also known as Mjölnir (Lightning), is the magical weapon of the Germanic god Thor. During the transition from paganism to Christianity, the bearer of Mjölnir demonstrated his affiliation with the old faith. As a symbol, it stands for strength and protection against enemies, for courage, inner strength, and determination. Moreover, it is supposed to establish a connection to the divine principle. As a piece of jewelry, it especially shows the bond with Nordic culture and mythology.
