Smudging throughout the year
From the Celts, we are aware of eight major festivals.
4 solar and 4 lunar festivals.
The solar festivals were each the equinoxes and the shortest day or the longest day. The lunar festivals are always temporally in the middle of the solar festivals. Their festivals were intense and full of zest for life, but also marked by deep respect for the changing conditions of nature.
It nourishes our soul and strengthens our connection to nature and the cosmos when we are able to attune ourselves again to these natural cycles.
With esteem and respect, honor what supports and surrounds us every day. In today's world, with electric light and central heating; with the hustle and bustle our daily life brings, there's a great risk that we lose touch with the rhythm of nature, the power of the sun and the moon, and the magic of a solar or lunar change. Everything runs uniformly, without highs and lows, without the wonderful enchantment that surrounds us.
