Tibetan prayer flags long

Gloriously colorful, they flutter playfully over rooftops, temples, bridges, or sacred springs everywhere in Nepal.
Yet, they hold a deep meaning for the people living there. They are always meant to remind of the Divine. The mantras and depictions on the flags are intended to bring protection and blessings to the entire universe and all life. Problems or sufferings are given over to the wind for transformation by hanging a prayer flag, so that life can flow again. The colorful flags symbolically represent the five elements. Over time, prayer flags dissolve due to the effects of sun, wind, and rain. This is also desired because in this way the blessing can reach the five elements.
