Wheel of the Year Celebrations
From the Celts, we are aware of eight major festivals.
4 sun and 4 moon festivals.
The solar festivals were each the equinoxes and the shortest day or the longest day. The moon festivals are temporally placed exactly in the middle of the solar festivals. Their festivals were intense and full of joie de vivre, but also marked by deep respect for the changing conditions of nature.
It nourishes our soul and strengthens our connection to nature and the cosmos when we manage to attune ourselves again to these natural cycles.
With regard and respect honor what supports us and surrounds us every day. In today's time with electric light and central heating; with the hustle and bustle that our daily life brings, there is a great risk that we no longer feel the rhythm of nature, the power of the sun and the moon, and the magic of a change in the sun or moon. Everything runs uniformly, without highs and lows, without the wonderful enchantment that surrounds us.
