"Buddha" is not a surname as one might assume, but an honorary title that is bestowed only upon individuals who have achieved salvation through their own insight. The man commonly referred to by this title is a historical figure. He likely lived between the 6th and 5th centuries BC in northern India and was named Siddhartha Gautama before his enlightenment. The teaching (Dharma) he revealed, which has undergone various developments over the centuries, and the monastic order he founded are still alive today, with the active involvement of Tibetan Lamas in recent years here in the West.

Kanakamuni
Kanakamuni is an ancient Buddha. Kanakamuni translates to "the Gold Sage". At his birth, it is said that it rained gold. He led a normal family life with a wife and daughter until the age of 3000. After a short period of withdrawal, he attained enlightenment. It is said that the Enlightened One lingered on Earth for another 30,000 years.
